We are on the lookout for experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our QS Division as a QS team leader.

THE ROLE

You will be involved in scoping properties, creating your own SOW and to provide solutions and costings for our clients. There is also the opportunity to be involved in project management and delivery of these solutions.

We work with a diverse customer base and are involved in a variety of projects including:

  • Building Maintenance
  • Construction
  • Interior Fitouts
  • Demolitions and renovations to Industrial and Commercial Buildings
  • Waterproofing (www.gunac.co.nz)
  • Roofing

Other exciting key aspects are:

Participation in maintaining a pipeline of upcoming work and ensuring we have relationships with the required stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of the information in the pipeline. You will be involved in ensuring there is an adequate value of opportunities and if this gets low, to contribute to increasing the pipeline. This must all be done with communication with the sales and marketing team.

Bid Management – Ownership of tenders, liaising with required internal and external parties to ensure we are able to submit a bid which minimises risk and is completed in a timely fashion to allow adequate time for our tender review and approval processes.

Successful Submission of Winning Bids – Follow the process through the entire sales cycle from identifying the opportunity through to submission of the bid, understanding the client’s requirements, including collaboration with the Marketing Team, so as to ensure a competitive winning bid.

Integration with Operational delivery teams – Involving the allocated Project Manager with your estimate through evaluation, submission and then handing over to ensure that the Project Manager has bought into the pricing and methodology used, so as to achieve or improve on the margin the project was bid on.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Minimum of 5 years+ of QS experience gained in the NZ Construction industry
  • Tertiary qualification in QS or Construction Management
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to build relationships both internally and externally
  • A sales focus advantageous to develop relationships with customers to ensure a continual pipeline of work to price
  • A confident attitude with the ability to see the opportunity and follow it through
  • Strong IT skills ; process orientated
