Access | Partners in Property has been on a remarkable journey since our humble beginnings in 2005. What started as a small operation has evolved into a trusted name in the property and facilities maintenance space, known for our commitment to Health and Safety, Quality and our ability to adapt and grow with the needs of our clients.

2005: The beginning of Access | Partners in Property

Our story began when Richard Cawson and Lance Pearson, who had worked together at a large facilities management company, decided to combine their expertise and start something of their own. They saw a gap in the market for a company that could deliver both high standards and a personal touch in property maintenance. From our early days working on projects in Auckland’s Britomart and Downtown precincts, we steadily built a reputation for quality and reliability. The success of these initial projects allowed us to expand our services, and before long, we were delivering an increasing number of facility and property maintenance services and projects across Auckland.

2017: Adding Expertise with Gunac | Waterproofing Specialists

As we grew, so did our ambition to offer more to our clients. In 2017, we acquired Gunac | Waterproofing Specialists, a company with over 40 years of experience in the waterproofing industry. This acquisition wasn’t just about expanding our services; it was about bringing in the expertise that would allow us to offer our clients even more comprehensive solutions. Gunac’s team became part of the Access family, and their skills and knowledge in waterproofing have since played a crucial role in many of our projects.

2021: Strengthening Our Services with The Building Wash Company

By 2021, our building wash and industrial abseiling teams had become an integral part of what we offered at Access | Partners in Property. However, as demand for these services grew, we acquired “The Building Wash Company” to increase our capacity and geographic footprint meeting the increasing demands of our clients. The Building Wash Company brought with it the expertise and resources we needed to enhance our existing services, ensuring we could continue delivering quality building wash solutions while maintaining the high standards our clients expect.

2024: Expanding in the Waikato with Waikato Property Maintenance (WPM)

In 2024, we took another big step forward by acquiring Waikato Property Maintenance (WPM). By bringing WPM into the fold, we expanded our reach and added more skilled tradespeople and Licensed Building Practitioners to our existing Access team in the Waikato region. WPM’s reputation for quality and reliability aligns perfectly with our own values, making them a natural fit for the Access family.
