Why use a drone

Use a drone for the hard-to-reach areas, the sensitive areas, or just because it makes it easier for you. Drone work is efficient because it covers large areas quickly and keeps disruption to a minimum around large commercial and industrial complexes.

No one works at height

The drone does the work at height while the pilot stays on the ground, so no one has to work at height to reach the hard-to-reach and sensitive areas of a building.

Large areas, covered quickly

Drones cover large areas quickly, which keeps the work efficient.

Minimal disruption

Disruption to movements around large commercial and industrial complexes is kept to a minimum.

CAA Part 102 certified, fully insured

Access holds a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Part 102 operator certificate. Our pilots operate under CAA Parts 101 and 102, and we are fully insured to take care of your project.

Common questions

What drone services do you offer?

Drone services for building washing, moss and mould roof treatments, weed and environmental spraying, and detailed building and roof inspection videos and photos.

Why use a drone instead of working at height?

No one works at height. The drone reaches the hard-to-reach and sensitive areas of a building while the pilot stays on the ground, and it covers large areas quickly, with minimal disruption to movements around large commercial and industrial complexes.

Who flies the drones?

Access holds a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Part 102 operator certificate, our pilots operate under CAA Parts 101 and 102, and we are fully insured. Part 101 sets the general operating rules for drones in New Zealand; Part 102 is the CAA's operator certification for operations outside those general rules.

Do you need permission to fly over our site?

The CAA rules cover things like flying over people and property and near aerodromes, so tell us about the site and what is around it when you ask for a quote.

Does the weather affect drone work?

Yes. Wind and rain affect drone flying, and washing and treatments depend on the conditions too, so the date is agreed with you and may need to move if the weather is not suitable on the day.

Can drone work be part of our yearly maintenance?

Yes. Your yearly preventative maintenance requirements can be managed easily using one of our three in-house drones.

Which areas do you cover?

Tell us where your site is when you ask for a quote. Send us the site details or call 0800 866 466.
